    Fall Parent and Teacher Conferences
It is time again for fall parent and teacher conferences! Reach out to your school to find out when your conferences are scheduled. You can find a list of school websites and contact info at www.tulsaschools.org/contact. To help you make the most of your time with your student’s teacher, here are some sample questions to help guide your conversation:

    • What does my student’s participation look like?
    • Does my student seem engaged and interested?
    • What are my student’s strongest and weakest subjects?
    • How does my child get along with others?
    • What can I do to help at home?

    Special Education Transition Fair
The annual Transition Fair for Special Education students and families is coming up on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 6-8pm at Wilson Teaching and Learning located at 2710 E. 11th St. in Tulsa. The Transition Fair aims to support students and families as they prepare for important transitions in their educational journey. Whether your child is transitioning between grades, planning for life after high school, or moving from school to work, this fair will provide valuable information and resources. The event will feature a variety of local service providers, agencies, and community organizations that offer support in areas such as vocational training, continuing education, independent living, and employment opportunities. There will also be keynote speakers to discuss DDS, DRS, SSI and Guardianship. This event is open to students of all ages. Dinner will be provided as well as respite care for TPS students who receive Special Education Services.

    Community Connections events
Our Board of Education members, in collaboration with Superintendent Ebony Johnson, have scheduled additional Community Connections events to engage with families and team members across the district. These events are an excellent opportunity for members of the TPS community to hear from district leadership and provide feedback and ideas about the future of the district. Upcoming events include:

    • Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 5:30pm in Selman Room at Education Service Center (3027 S. New Haven Ave.)
    • Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 5:30pm in Rogers High School Cafeteria (3909 E. 5th Pl.)
    • Monday, Nov. 3 at 7pm in Selman Room at Education Service Center (3027 S. New Haven Ave.)
    • Thursday, Nov. 13 at 5:30pm -- virtual (check back for link)

Navigate360 visitor check-in system now in use
On Monday, Oct. 6, we launched the Navigate360 visitor management system in all our schools and buildings. When arriving at any TPS campus, families and community members will be required to check in at a computer kiosk and scan a government-issued ID. Each visitor will be given a printed nametag with their photo on it to wear while in the building; visitors should check-out with the main office or security desk upon leaving. These new procedures will help us continue to provide safe and secure buildings for our students and team members. When visitors scan their ID into Navigate360, the system will run a check of the National Sex Offender Registry and our district’s restricted list. This helps us quickly and accurately identify who should and should not be permitted into our school buildings while keeping precise logs of visitors who are in our buildings.

Tulsa Public Schools takes data privacy very seriously, and we want to assure you that your ID badge and information will not be shared outside of Tulsa Public Schools. It is not recorded or kept beyond what is necessary to log visitors' entry and exit from our buildings. You can read more frequently asked questions here.

Homework help through Tulsa City-County Library
Tulsa City-County Library makes it easy for students to access homework help when they need it most. Live tutors (including Spanish-speaking tutors) are available to help with all core subjects daily from 2-11pm via the brainfuse app (available in the App Store or Google Play). Students can use their library card to access the app for free. Visit www.tulsalibrary.org/homeworkhelp to learn more and sign up for a library card if your student does not have one.
