    Information and Updates

Navigate360 visitor check-in system launching soon
On Monday, Oct. 6, we will officially launch the Navigate360 visitor management system in all our schools and buildings. When arriving at any TPS campus, families and community members will be required to check in at a computer kiosk and scan a government-issued ID. Each visitor will be given a printed nametag with their photo on it to wear while in the building; visitors should check-out with the main office or security desk upon leaving. These new procedures will help us continue to provide safe and secure buildings for our students and team members. When visitors scan their ID into Navigate360, the system will run a check of the National Sex Offender Registry and our district’s restricted list. This helps us quickly and accurately identify who should and should not be permitted into our school buildings while keeping precise logs of visitors who are in our buildings.

Tulsa Public Schools takes data privacy very seriously, and we want to assure you that your ID badge and information will not be shared outside of Tulsa Public Schools. It is not recorded or kept beyond what is necessary to log visitors' entry and exit from our buildings. You can read more frequently asked questions here.

You’re invited to the One Team Ambassador Community Rally
Families, community leaders, and partner organizations are invited to join us on Thursday, September 25 at 6pm at Wilson Teaching and Learning (2710 E. 11th St.) to learn more about and kick off the start of the One Team TPS Ambassadors program. RSVP at www.tulsaschools.org/RSVP to let us know if you plan to attend.

We’re looking for ambassadors who can support students through various duties in our schools and help our students feel seen, valued, and encouraged by members of the community. Ambassadors will be matched with a school and can choose from areas of interest that range from morning greetings and literacy support, to afterschool club engagement and even presence at athletic and extracurricular events. We all have a role to play in creating a strong, thriving Tulsa.

    Community Connections events
This fall, our Board of Education members are hosting a series of Community Connections events in collaboration with Superintendent Ebony Johnson. These events are an excellent opportunity for families and team members in the different board districts to hear from and engage with their respective board members and Superintendent Johnson. The final event for districts 2 and 4 will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 5:30pm at Rogers High School cafeteria (3909 E. 5th Pl.).

Students encouraged to apply for Seal of Biliteracy
Multilingual students in grades 10, 11, and 12 are encouraged to apply for recognition of their proficiency in multiple languages by graduating with the district’s Seal of Biliteracy. Students can apply online at www.tulsaschools.org/sealofbiliteracy. The student application deadline is Friday, October 3.

Since 2018, Tulsa Public Schools has awarded 680 Seals of Biliteracy - making it the district in Oklahoma with the most Seals of Biliteracy awarded. In the seventh year of the program, students earned seals in Spanish, French, Russian, and – for the first time – Dari. Students who successfully earn the Seal of Biliteracy not only increase in global cultural competence but also gain strong language skills that will help them be successful in college, careers, and life.

    September is Attendance Awareness Month
Did you know that missing just two days of school per month adds up to 16 days out of the school year, which is 10% of total instruction time?! Missing a day of school here and there may not seem like much, but absences quickly add up. Tulsa Public Schools understands that many families face challenges that can make regular school attendance difficult, and we are here to help you overcome these obstacles. If you are dealing with barriers such as transportation difficulties, housing instability, or lack of resources, we can help you find solutions. You can connect with our Family Attendance Supports team by completing the form at www.tulsaschools.org/attend.

Enjoy the Tulsa State Fair without missing school
The Tulsa State Fair is just around the corner, and we know many of our students and families look forward to attending. Please remember that all regularly scheduled school days will continue during the fair, and we expect students to be in class on time and ready to learn.

We also want to remind everyone that some items sold or given away at the fair are not allowed on school property. If a prohibited item is brought to school, it will be confiscated in accordance with district policy. Prohibited items include: firearms, knives, or any type of weapon (including look-alike or toy weapons), fireworks or other explosive items, large stuffed animals, oversized prizes, or other items that may cause a distraction in the classroom, and anything unsafe or inappropriate for a school setting. Thank you for helping us keep our schools safe and focused on learning while still enjoying all the fun and excitement of the fair season.

FAFSA graduation requirement for class of 2026 seniors
Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a state-mandated graduation requirement. All seniors must complete it (or submit an opt-out form) in order to graduate. To support our class of 2026 seniors in meeting this requirement, we’ll be holding free FAFSA Information Sessions over the next several months. Our staff can help you create your FSA ID number onsite so that you’re ready to complete the FAFSA once it opens in October. Once the FAFSA opens, we can even help you complete it! Funding is awarded on a first come, first served basis, so you should plan to submit yours as soon as it is available. The next information session is coming up soon:

    • Saturday, Oct. 4 from 10am-2pm at the Education Service Center at 3027 S. New Haven Ave

One-on-one support completing the FAFSA and/or Oklahoma’s Promise application is also available by appointment. Visit www.tulsaschools.org/FAFSA to make an appointment with a member of Team Tulsa who can help you complete the process.
