Ashley Jackson named Hawthorne Support Professional of the Year

Ashley Jackson is the 2025-2026 Hawthorne Elementary Support Professional of the Year!

Ashley joined Team Tulsa in 2019 as a paraprofessional at Hawthorne Elementary. We asked her a few questions to learn more about her and her role at the school.

What led you to a career in education?

I was drawn to education because I genuinely enjoy working with students and supporting them as whole people. Being able to connect with students, especially those who may need extra care or encouragement, brings me a lot of purpose. I love being part of a school community where I can make a positive difference in students’ daily lives.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

My favorite part of my job is the students. They bring me so much joy and motivation each day. Building relationships with them, helping them feel seen and supported, and watching them grow is what keeps me excited to come to work.

What is one thing you are passionate about outside of work?

Outside of work, I am passionate about creativity and community. I enjoy making handmade gift baskets for holidays and special occasions, decorating spaces to bring joy to others, and staying involved with my church and community. I also deeply value time with my family and caring for those around me.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

I am proud to be part of the Hawthorne community. As president of our Sunshine Committee, I enjoy helping create a positive and supportive school climate for staff through celebrations, support during difficult times, and small moments of joy. I believe our school is special because of the people in it, and I am grateful to work alongside such a caring and dedicated team.
