Khalissa Benidamou is the 2024-2025 Salk Elementary Support Professional of the Year!

Khalissa joined Team Tulsa four years ago as a substitute teacher for two years before becoming a teacher's assistant at Salk. We asked her a few questions to learn more about her and her role.

What led you to a career in education?

While working as a substitute, I discovered that I have a passion of working with children.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

Seeing smiles on students' faces after learning new things brighten my days. 

What is one thing you are passionate about outside of work?

I have always been passionate about baking all types of delights from all over the world. I love cooking and sharing new recipes with others. 

Is there anything else you would like to share?

I just want to say that I consider myself lucky to be part of an amazing and diverse team at Salk elementary. The welcoming environment at the school encourages me not only to do my best but to strive for much better outcomes. I will end with the leadership's statement at Salk which is: "Our goal is for students to love learning and succeed in their journey."
